Baseball Information

About the Coaches:

Head Coach Al Frias has been at the helm of Tyner Academy baseball since the 2020 season that was  canceled due to covid. In 2021 he lead the Rams to a 7 and 9 District  record and 5th place finish in  the  eight team district play. 
Coach Frias, a New York native, began his Chattanooga baseball coaching career at the East Brainerd Baseball Association where he served as coach on all age levels, as well as serving as President of the East Brainerd Baseball Association from 2005 to 2009.
As Head Coach of Chattanooga's   MLB's Reviving Baseball in the Inner City (RBI) 18 and under summer baseball program from 2009 to present, Coach Frias and his RBI coaching staff have been instrumental in 6 Tyner baseball players-- and many  others --earning college baseball scholarships. As the head of MLB's Chattanooga RBI, he has won several regional tournament championships, including the RBI Southeast Regional Championship. Earning his team a spot in MLB's  RBI World Series.
Assistant Coach Chae Butler is a Tyner Baseball and Kentucky State University Baseball Alumni.
As a Tyner Ram he led the region  with  86 strike outs earning Co-Player of the Year, Best of the Preps and a spot on the Tennessee vs. Georgia All Star team.
A Kentucky State University 4 year scholarship starter, he led KYSU to its 1st appearance in the SIAC conference final earning him SIAC Tournament All Conference Team and the Kentucky State University Athletics' Thorobred Award.
Coach Butler has also served on the RBI Baseball coaching staff from 2018 to present.
